چکیده
Abstract The frequency mixing property of time-modulated metasurfaces, attributed to the well-known phenomenon temporal photonic transition, has led several exotic functionalities in last lustrum. Based on this concept, we demonstrate possibility achieving nonreciprocal responses near-infrared regime via combining a platform and static high-Q metasurface. In particular, metasurface is designed up-convert incident tone first higher-order harmonic, while implemented establish filtering behavior with respect frequency. It shown that receiver port acquires transmitted signal forward direction, amount received power becomes negligible under time-reversal scenario, which indicates presented configuration exhibits different optical from opposite directions. addition, role operating wavelength modulation isolation level are investigated, it demonstrated by appropriate selection, can reach ?30 dB. Since time response obtained pure modulation, believe idea paper be utmost importance various applications, such as tunable isolators.

Optical Nonreciprocity Based on Optomechanical Coupling
Optical isolation, nonreciprocal phase transmission, and topological phases for light based on synthetic gauge fields have been raising significant interest in the recent literature. Cavity-optomechanical systems that involve two optical modes coupled to a common mechanical mode form an ideal platform to realize these effects, providing the basis for various recent demonstrations of optomechani...
متن کاملOptical Nonreciprocity in Asymmetric Optomechanical Couplers
We propose an all-optical integrated nonreciprocal device on the optomechanical platform with a large nonreciprocal bandwidth and low operating power. The device is based on an asymmetric silicon coupler consisting of two branches. One of them is a conventional strip waveguide fixed on the substrate, and the other is a freestanding nanostring suspended above a groove in the substrate. When ligh...
متن کاملOptical nonreciprocity in magnetic structures related to high-Tc superconductors.
Rotation of the plane of polarization of reflected light (Kerr effect) is a direct manifestation of broken time-reversal symmetry and is generally associated with the appearance of a ferromagnetic moment. Here I identify magnetic structures that may arise within the unit cell of cuprate superconductors that generate polarization rotation despite the absence of a net moment. For these magnetic s...
متن کاملOptical metasurfaces: from planar to conformable optics
Abrupt modifications of the fields across an interface can be engineered by depositing an array of subwavelength resonators specifically tailored to address local amplitude, phase and polarization changes [1]. Physically, ultrathin nanostructure arrays, called “metasurfaces”, control light by engineering artificial boundary conditions of Maxwell’s equations. Metasurfaces have been implemented t...
متن کاملOptical metasurfaces for polarization-controlled beam shaping.
We have developed multifunctional optical beam shapers based on plasmonic metasurfaces. The metasurfaces are composed of subwavelength-spaced polarization- and wavelength-selective optical nanoantennas that allow encoding several beam shapers on a single element. We demonstrate numerically and experimentally beam shapers that can be used to switch between arbitrary beam shapes. We specifically ...
